Pooja R. Pendri, M.D. was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She graduated with honors from Princeton University and received her medical degree from Rutgers - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey.


Dr. Pendri completed a transitional year internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center before joining New York Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medicine for her ophthalmology residency. In her final year of residency, she served as Chief Resident and received the Resident Teaching Award. After residency, Dr. Pendri gained advanced training through a glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at The University of Miami Hospital. She returned to New Jersey and joined the Glaucoma Institute of Northern New Jersey in 2024.


Dr. Pendri specializes in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma and cataracts. Dr. Pendri has published work in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at the United Kingdom Pediatric Glaucoma Society in London. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
